Fix You

Great song. Great lyrics.

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want, but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone, but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down on your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down on your face
And on your face I...

Tears stream down on your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down on your face
And on your face I...

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

It's all G-double O-D...GOOD

Life seems to be good right now. Work is getting busier (which I love)! I’ve come to realize where my strengths are in the work place: problem solving and stream lining processes. Perhaps those fall under the same category? Give me a problem and ask me to come up with a way to resolve the current issue or at least bring us a step closer to resolving the issue. I guess that’s where my “wanting to help fix things and help people” characteristics come out.

My health – I have been maintaining an active lifestyle. I’m the most active at this point in my life than I have ever been. AND…I love it. I have great a group of friends to go hiking with on the weekends. I now run 4 miles at least 3 times a week (2 miles on the off days). Okay…the eating I could definitely work on :/.

Social life – it’s GREAT. I have been meeting some awesome people. I have the greatest friends…specifically, my girlfriends. We go out regularly and WE KNOW how to have a good time. I’ve been meeting a few guys while out…but to be honest…I’m just NOT AT ALL interested. That day will come when I am ready to date…right now, it’s not the time. I’m having too much fun spoiling myself. I’m not ready to share ME with another man. And okay I’ll have to admit…I have a few crushes: Jon and Bill from the Shout House (dueling piano bar in downtown). There’s just something about a man who can work the piano (or any instrument).

There you have it folks, my weakness: men who have the natural ability to play an instrument. Specifically the piano and/or the guitar. If he can sing…BONUS. If he’s educated with at least a bachelor’s degree…PERFECT. Juliet’s ideal man = musician + educated + a few other things that I’d like to keep between me, myself and I :D

On the flip side – the big 2-5 is approaching in a little over a month and I plan on spending it jumping out of a plane. Oh, the fun I will have!

Plans for grad school have been postponed. Although, I will still be taking the GRE in May. I’m in no rush right now to go back to school. Months ago, I was super gung-ho about it…but realized…there are a few things that I need to take care of before committing and investing in grad school. I’m in a good place right now…

I’ve learned to “chill-out”. Take each day for what it is and to NOT always have a plan…that sometimes the best times in my life seem to be unplanned. Or at least…when I plan my goals…they are realistic ones - goals that I can measure. Dreams and goals…2 different things.

Alright folks…that’s all for now. Enjoy the rest of February and think about doing something that you have never done before the month is up. Perhaps sing a song at karaoke in front of strangers, learn to play an instrument, volunteer at a local food bank, run a 5K, sky dive, join a local co-ed sports team like ultimate frisbee…there’s so much to do...GET OUT AND DO SOMETHING :D
